Sunlight Peak Observatory will be open for public stargazing from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2.
All five planets that can be seen with the naked eye are visible. Sky watchers also will be looking at the Andromeda Galaxy, Hercules Cluster, and many stars and nebulae.
Sunlight Peak Observatory is on the Larimer Campus, Harmony Road and Shields Street in Fort Collins.
This event is weather and skies permitting. The observatory is not heated, so please dress appropriately.

Amateur astronomers are invited to bring their own telescopes.
Stargazings are scheduled for the first Friday of the month during the fall and spring semesters.
