Fort Collins, COLO., (Aug. 5, 2016) – As part of its mission to serve the Fort Collins community that has been its home for more than 60 years, Houska Automotive is hosting a free Garage Band Event Aug. 20, 6-9 p.m. The event will take place at Houska Tire and Oil at 901 Riverside Avenue in Fort Collins and benefit Elli’s Deli, a nonprofit organization that creates opportunity for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“We’ve been fortunate to work with many remarkable organizations in the northern Colorado region,” said Jennifer Houska. “Elli’s Deli promotes the compassion and generosity that Houska greatly values, and we are thrilled to support it in any way we can.”

The goal of the fundraiser event is to raise enough money to help Elli’s Deli purchase a local food truck, which would provide comparable wages, skill-building opportunities and a positive and rewarding working experience for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Such individuals are often left with limited options in the workforce and Elli’s Deli is working to combat that reality.

“Individuals with disabilities have so much to offer but are oftentimes not given equal opportunities in our society,” said Jeff Wittenauer, Owner of Eleos Services and Founder of Elli’s Deli. “Elli’s Deli will ensure that these individuals can share their gifts with the community and remind them of their immense value.”

Wittenauer, along with his wife Jennifer, founded Eleos Services in 2015 to provide programs and support for children with disabilities and their families. Elli’s Deli is the organization’s most recent endeavor and is inspired by the Wittenauer’s daughter, Elli, who has Smith-Magenis Syndrome. They are grateful for the caring northern Colorado environment in which Elli has grown up and want to extend this care to other individuals like her.

To support this vision, Houska Automotive invites the northern Colorado community to enjoy a fun evening of multiple bands, silent and live auctions, beer and wine, and delicious foods including the trademark Elli’s Deli Cheese Steak Sandwich. The event is free to attend and donations will be accepted at the door.
