Your Chamber is in a special position that allows us to observe the larger community from several very interesting seats. One of those seats is that of cheerleader for the community and our leaders.
We celebrated several amazing leaders in our community at our Chamber Annual Celebration on March 3. The online event allowed us to recognize some of the best of our community. Thank you to Eric Lea, Cathy Crouse Mathis, Nick Haws, Pete Gazlay and David May for all you do to support the Chamber and our community. There is no doubt that these people inspire all of us and have provided a tremendous foundation of leadership for the Chamber and our community. It was equally wonderful to see the many posts, comments and sentiments celebrating International Women’s Day on Monday. I have the tremendous opportunity to work with smart, talented women throughout our community and state and want to celebrate the women that make the Chamber successful.
Did you know that 80% of our Chamber staff are women? You have an amazing team that is working daily to proactively empower business people to build a community where business can thrive and where citizens are proud to live.
A very special shout out to the incredible women that are on our team:
- Vice President of Development and Operations Kim Medina
- Director of Finance Janel Reichard
- Communications Coordinator Jenn Umland
- Receptionist and Executive Assistant Cortney Moore
- Membership Engagement Specialist Sarah Morain
- Intern Katie Anthony
Each of these individuals bring high energy, tremendous skills and incredible dedication to their work at the Chamber. If you haven’t connected with these great people, you should!
Additionally, we have several incredible women leading our Board of Directors. Many of you “met” our Board Chair Nicole Staudinger during our Annual Celebration on Wednesday. Nicole is the President of FirstBank Northern Colorado and is complimented on the board by Carrie Baumgart, Markley Motors; Kate Baker, BCI; Carrie Gillis, New Colony Apartment; Jennifer Johns, The Light Center; Deb Kelly, Independent Financial; Yvonne Myers, Columbine Health Systems; Amy Pezzani, Food Bank for Larimer County and Jean Runyon, Front Range Community College.
I’m happy to be seated alongside all of these women and know the business community will only continue to grow with the leadership they bring to their seats.
