The goal setting process typically looks like calculating 15-20% over the current year’s revenue, and the business plan is just a strategy of doing more of what they are already doing.

This most often results in goals that are completely meaningless, a year of using willpower, accountability and stress to get there, and most often results that look very similar to the year before…maybe, 5% or 10% over, or maybe even 7% under goal.
