West African beaded and textile arts will be explored from 6-7:30 pm Tuesday, August 17, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. David Riep, Associate Professor of Art History at Colorado State University, will present “String Theory: Histories of Interaction through West African Beaded and Textile Arts” in the Museum’s Program Room. Dr. Riep will examine the history of these arts and their role in fostering threads of connection across the African continent. Admission to the lecture is $5 person.
