The Larimer Chorale will be honoring the victims of the Holocaust by presenting “Annelies”, a choral masterwork by James Whitbourn on March 14, 2020 at 7:30 pm and March 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm at CSU’s Lory Student Center.
Millions have read The Diary of Anne Frank and have been struck by the beauty and resilience of the human spirit during horrible and inhumane times. Composer James Whitbourn has created a concert piece for soprano solo, chorus, and chamber ensemble, inspired by Anne Frank’s famous diary. “Annelies” is a 75-minute choral work in 14 movements with libretto translated and compiled by Melanie Challenger from The Diary of Anne Frank. This will be a powerful and gripping multi-media experience that will be life-changing for audience members and performers alike. With these performances of “Annelies,” we remember Anne Frank’s death in the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp seventy-fine years ago.
The Larimer Chorale will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and honoring veterans throughout its concert season and will end the season by traveling to visit the Normandy Beaches in June, 2020.
Tickets for both performances are available through the Lincoln Center Box Office or at LCtix.com.
