The Christmas Rose

Dance Express brings THE CHRISTMAS ROSE to the Lincoln Center Magnolia Theatre, December 17th & 18th {Tuesday evening at 7:00 and Wednesday matinee at 1:00 and evening at 7:00} 417 West Magnolia Street, Fort Collins, CO.
Based on a medieval European and Middle Eastern tale, The Christmas Rose is a well- loved story. Dance Express first presented the Rose in 1998 and brings it back for the first time since 2015. Re-creating The Christmas Rose in 2024 entails some new choreography to the original score by Mark Piersel and with the dance theatre plot by Jill McKnight.
To honor our dear, departed Tamara, we premiere “Tamara’s Song”, a piece commissioned with the help of Chase the Music, a partner 501(c)(3). Juan Contreras from Longmont composed the music and Dance Express company members will premiere this dance work. Juan is an accomplished flute player and composer from Chile. He plays the standard concert flute in C, Alto flute, Bass flute and ethnic South American flutes, keyboard and percussion instruments.
Founded in Fort Collins in 1989, Dance Express is an inclusive 501(c)(3) modern dance company for persons with and without disabilities. We improve lives through dance. As a member of the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce and a 2022 recipient of a Biz West Community Builder Award, Dance Express believes creativity is an integral part of life!
