‘Under the Big Top’ will benefit McKee Wellness Foundation supporting critical services for cancer patients in northern Colorado

The McKee Wellness Foundation proudly announces that, in partnership with Banner McKee and Fort Collins Medical Centers, our 2019 Gala for Wellness will directly benefit cancer patients’ holistic care and increased treatment options. The event, Under the Big Top, will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Loveland. Presented by Subaru of Loveland, the 39th annual gala will include dinner, live entertainment and raffles for different getaway vacations plus a new Subaru, 100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit those who are fighting cancer providing wrap around support services during treatment through the McKee Wellness Foundation.

“This fund supports the wrap-around care that patients need while undergoing cancer treatment. Things such as alternative pain management, massage therapy, household support, and emergency payment support, all help our patients and their families during this incredibly difficult time,” said Allis Gilbert, Executive Director of the McKee Wellness Foundation.

For over 40 years, the McKee Wellness Foundation has contributed to the health and wellness of our community through partnerships with our local hospitals. It is this partnership that allows us to be unique; 100% of donations, sponsorships, or event participation goes directly to patients and their care. As a philanthropic resource for Banner McKee and Fort Collins Medical Centers, and the surrounding communities in Colorado. Together, we are focused on actively pursuing communities in good health by bridging the gaps in healthcare, supporting individual and families, and engaging with our communities to improve overall wellness.

Jenny, 64, was one of these patients who turned to Banner McKee Medical Center. Jenny was diagnosed with a fairly rare case of cancer and she knew she would receive the best care in the nation. As time and treatment wore on, her savings began to deplete. While Jenny worked to make the two ends meet she came to a critical point – do I continue to pay my medical bills, or do I pay to keep a roof over my head and my heat on? It is at this point that Jenny asked for help; the McKee Wellness Foundation was able to help pay for her mortgage and utilities, buy groceries and gas, and most of all take a moment to breathe.

“We need people and companies to help support our community programs. To make this care possible, a sponsorship or gala attendance can make all the difference in raising funds and awareness of the support available to those currently fighting,” Gilbert said. “When you hear a friend or loved one is diagnosed with cancer and you say, ‘I wish there was something I could do…,’ there IS something you can do.  You can help support their wrap-around care.”

Tickets to the event are $225 and are available by visiting galaforwellness.com. In addition, discounted tickets for young professionals and impact tickets are available for purchase.
