We’ve Got Your Back: New Healthy Back Program Launches

In collaboration with Rebound Sports and Physical Therapy, Miramont Lifestyle Fitness launched a one-of-a-kind Healthy Back program on Sept. 12, 2017. The four-week program is designed to strengthen the deep supporting muscles of the spine through expert, customized instruction to prevent and avoid back injuries.

Included in the program is a free consultation from Rebound Sports and Physical Therapy, four private personal training sessions with a Certified Fitness Professional from Miramont Lifestyle Fitness, and a free pass to the REVE yoga wall.

Following registration, participants will get a comprehensive back assessment from a physical therapist at Rebound Sports and Physical Therapy. Using the results from that consultation to determine pain levels, mobility challenges, and extent of injury, the physical therapist will work with a personal trainer at Miramont Lifestyle Fitness to craft a plan that is unique to their needs.

“The most common reason for back pain is bending, lifting, and twisting without using the proper muscles to do those actions,” notes Anna Towne, physical therapist at Rebound Sports and Physical Therapy. Whether that’s from poor form or from not using the glutes, low abs, or obliques to stabilize the spine, Healthy Back participants will learn how to move properly and strengthen the muscles supporting the back.

This program is for anyone who suffers from back pain or wants to prevent back problems from developing in the future.

You do not have to be a Miramont Lifestyle Fitness member to enroll in the program. The physical therapy consultations will take place at Rebound Sports and Physical Therapy’s Fort Collins location, 2211 South College Ave, Suite 300. The subsequent personal training sessions can be completed at any of Miramont Lifestyle Fitness’ four locations.
