Visit Fort Collins Offers Certified Tourism Ambassador Program

The Certified Tourism Ambassador program is an international program that Visit Fort Collins adopted in 2014 as an education opportunity for the hospitality and tourism industry. It includes a pre-read document focusing on Fort Collins’ history and economic information, a 3 ½ hour class, and an open book test for certification.

The class focuses on the impact of tourism in our local economy and how we each play a role in that, Fort Collins information- we break it down in to region and discuss everything we have to offer as well as resources. There is also a customer service component concentrating on exceeding expectations and creating an emotional connection to add value to visitors’ experiences.

The class is $30 and includes the pre-read, the class, and free admittance to all the mixers, networking events, local flavor tours, and discounts from our partners. There is a renewal fee of $15 per year and you must earn 50 points to renew. This is meant to be ‘continuing education’ by experiencing Fort Collins- you will earn points for mixers you attend, attractions you visit, etc.
