HWP Hosts 2nd Annual Golf Invitational for Suicide Prevention Among Military Families
Fort Collins – Healing Warriors Program is hosting the 2nd Annual Heroes and Homebuilders Golf Invitational August 22, 2022 benefiting Veterans and their Families at risk, at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie. “It’s PARS and STRIPES time again! We are so excited to get folks back out to mingle, network and have fun for a good cause,” said Janet Hatfield, Development Manager for Healing Warriors Program.
On Monday August 22nd, guests from across Colorado will gather at 8am for a day of exciting Golf action and prizes while enjoying cocktails, an awards luncheon, and some fun on course competitions. Open to all golfers, veterans, and veteran supporters who want to honor their employees, friends, families and co-workers who served their country. The Homebuilding Industry employs thousands of Veterans through building companies and the trade organizations that make home ownership possible. This tournament is your chance to say thank you to them, get a little competitive and to help support free non-narcotic healthcare for service members and their families who are suffering.

Sponsorships start at only $300 and you can support this event through unique offerings such as a cart sponsorship, beverage sponsors, whiskey tent, cigars, putting contest sponsor and more or grab a highly coveted Hole sponsorship. Challenge the lady pros from Backswing Golf to a closest to the pin contest, enter the CRAZY putting contest where you’ll choose a hockey stick, croquet mallet or baseball bat as your putter.
“Recent events have increased trauma, grief, pain and suicide risk for our military families, who sacrifice so much in service to our nation,” said Executive Director, Ana Yelen, “Our role is to lessen the factors that lead to veteran suicides. We do this by providing free treatment care, home self-care tools, gun locks, and Client Care navigation services to assist in connecting our veterans with community resources and counseling services. We solve problems together as a community, and our fundraising events focus on education, awareness and removing barriers for our veteran families in obtaining care.”
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, the state of Colorado ranks as the fifth highest suicide rate at 22.1 per 100,000. Wyoming ranks number one with a suicide rate of 29.6 per 100,000.
We serve Veterans, from any era and any branch of service.
