Poudre School District: Announcement Regarding Mask Mandate

Dear PSD community,

Poudre School District is aware that Larimer County Department of Health and Environment officials announced today that the county’s current mask order will expire on Feb. 12, 2022.

Masks are still required in all PSD facilities. We have NOT yet determined what the county’s announcement means for PSD’s existing protocol requiring masks and will communicate a district decision as soon as possible. Masks are also required in all indoor spaces in Larimer County until Saturday, Feb. 12.

We recognize that there are many differing opinions about how best to respond to the COVID pandemic and, specifically, on the topic of masks.

This announcement prompts many complex questions that we are working swiftly to answer. It is paramount that we thoughtfully consider the health department’s decision and the implications for our three school year commitments: prioritize in-person learning; keep staff and students’ health and safety at the forefront; and use data to inform decisions.

Again, we know that this news may resonate differently with our staff, students, families and communities. Thank you for your continued partnership as we respond to these ever-changing conditions.

With appreciation,

Brian Kingsley

Superintendent
