FORT COLLINS, Colo. (September 15, 2016) – Odell Brewing Company contributed $13,000 ($3,000 earned through sales of the House That Beer Built beer in the tap room!) in support of the House That Beer Built II, a Habitat for Humanity home being built and sold to the Beavers family. Odell Brewing employees have been actively raising funds for the home since January, when HTBB II was the “Charity of the Month” earning the project its first check of $3,000. Additionally, they have been on the building site building alongside the Beavers family.
“Investing in our community is a priority to Odell Brewing” said Karla Baise, Community Outreach Coordinator, “We are committed to contributing to charitable programs in our serving area and to engaging our co-workers in our philanthropic efforts.”
“Homeownership is an opportunity we weren’t sure we would have after moving four times in the last five years. Being selected to purchase a Habitat home means financial stability and the ability to support our children in their future education and life aspirations,” said the Beavers family. “We can finally let go of our fear and begin working toward an abundant future for our family.”

The Beavers family will complete 500 hours of “sweat equity” helping to build the home, a basic tenet of Habitat for Humanity. They will also purchase the home and repay the no-profit mortgage, illustrating Habitat for Humanity’s objective to give families a “hand up” rather than a “hand out.”
The Beavers family moved to Fort Collins after experiencing the disheartening housing market of a Colorado tourist town. After hearing about Habitat and volunteering on-site, they agreed that this could be a great opportunity for them.
The home will be located in the Avondale Cottages a part of the Ridgewood Hills neighborhood and is expected to be completed by winter of 2016.

The House That Beer Built II is a collaboration of twelve Fort Collins breweries have teamed up to craft something that’s not beer. Black Bottle Brewery, CooperSmith’s Pub and Brewing, Fort Collins Brewery, Funkwerks, Horse and Dragon Brewing Company, Jessup Farm Barrel House, McClellan’s Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing Company, Odell Brewing Company, Old Colorado Brewing Company, Pateros Creek Brewing Company and Three Four Beer Company are tapping their resources for “The House That Beer Built II” – a collaborative community initiative with Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity to build a home in partnership with the Beavers family. Each brewery has fundraised through various events February through August. They are actively building alongside the homebuyers onsite.
