Mountain Avenue/Oak Street Alleyway – Wastewater/Sanitary Sewer Improvements

Jun 4, 2019 | Member News

Fort Collins Utilities has contracted with Granite Inliner to perform Cured-In-Place Pipe Lining (CIPP) improvements on the wastewater/sanitary sewer mains in the alleyway between Mountain Avenue and Oak Street. This method of pipe rehabilitation is fairly quick and helps extend the life of the sanitary sewer system. Work in your area will begin Tuesday, June 11 at approximately 11 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, and resume Wednesday, June 12 from approximately 11 p.m. to Thursday, June 13 at 6 a.m.

Important: In order to perform this work, your wastewater/sewer service connection to the main line will be sealed during the reconstruction process and not available for use.

To avoid a sewer backup during this time, you should take the following steps:

  1. Avoid water use as much as possible.
  2. Do not wash clothes or dishes.
  3. Do not take showers or baths.
  4.  Do not flush toilets.
  5.  Do not operate sump pumps connected to the sewer.
  6.  Keep toilet lids DOWN until the process is complete.

Granite Inliner will distribute additional notices closer to the start of the project.

Prior to 10 p.m. on June 11, please fill plumbing traps by pouring water into any basement drains and running water in seldom used sinks or tubs.
If a problem occurs with your sewer service during or following the reconstruction project, please call one of the following number immediately: Joe Moya, Site Supervisor, Granite Inliner, 303-419-7648
