FORT COLLINS, Colo. (June 13, 2016) – 12 Fort Collins breweries have teamed up to craft something that’s not beer. Black Bottle Brewery, CooperSmith’s Pub and Brewing, Fort Collins Brewery, Funkwerks, Horse and Dragon Brewing Company, Jessup Farm Barrel House, McClellan’s Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing Company, Odell Brewing Company, Old Colorado Brewing Company, Pateros Creek Brewing Company and Three Four Beer Company are tapping their resources for “The House That Beer Built II” – a collaborative community initiative with Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity to build a home in partnership with the Beavers family.
“Homeownership is an opportunity we weren’t sure we would have after moving four times in the last five years. Being selected to purchase a Habitat home means financial stability and the ability to support our children in their future education and life aspirations.” said the Beavers family. “We can finally let go of our fear and begin working toward an abundant future for our family.”
The goal is to raise $100,000 for the Beavers family home. Each brewery will fundraise through various events February through August. They will build alongside the homebuyers onsite beginning in August.
Go West T-shirt Company donated the shirt and printing for the project. The Moot House hosted a matching fundraiser during the month of May benefiting the HTBBII. The Farmhouse hosted “Chicken & Givin’” in May and donated proceeds from their fried chicken platters.

The Beavers family will complete 500 hours of “sweat equity” helping to build the home, a basic tenet of Habitat for Humanity. They will also purchase the home and repay the no-profit mortgage, illustrating Habitat for Humanity’s objective to give families a “hand up” rather than a “hand out.”
The Beavers family moved to Fort Collins after experiencing the disheartening housing market of a Colorado tourist town. After hearing about Habitat and volunteering on-site, they agreed that this could be a great opportunity for them.
The home will be located in the Avondale Cottages a part of Ridgewood Hills neighborhood and is expected to be completed by winter of 2016.
