FORT COLLINS, COLO. – March 27, 2017 – The Lagoon Summer Concert Series, now in its 24th year, is a community tradition enjoyed by northern Colorado music lovers of all ages. The free concert series, produced by Mantooth Marketing Company, is excited to kick off the 2017 season on the west lawn of Colorado State University’s Lory Student Center on June 14 at 6:30 p.m.

The eight-week Lagoon Summer Concert Series will feature a variety of music styles, including country, reggae, folk, rock and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for an enjoyable evening of free music. Local food trucks will be present each week for the convenience of concert goers. Residents should be cautioned that there is no parking allowed on Plum Drive.

The 2017 lineup includes:
June 14: Danielle Ate the Sandwich
A Lagoon veteran and northern Colorado favorite, Danielle Anderson, known professionally as Danielle Ate the Sandwich, gained popularity by posting simple YouTube videos that showcased her ukulele prowess, sweet vocals, thoughtful lyrics and unique personality. She has since garnered audiences across the world and recently recorded the Emmy-nominated soundtrack of the HBO documentary film, “Packed in a Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson.”

June 21: Tatanka
Tatanka embodies a traditional Caribbean reggae sound mixed with pop influences from the Britannica-American reggae scenes. The four-man band has received several notable honors, including “Breakout Artist of the Year” (2014) by The Pier, High Times “Unsigned Band of the Month” (2011), and nominated by Westword magazine for “Colorado’s Reggae/Jam Band of the Year” (2015).

June 28: Slow Caves
Comprised of two Danish brothers and their two childhood friends, Slow Caves combines the best music of the ’80s, ’90s and today for an enjoyable indie-rock vibe. Although formed in Fort Collins, the band has made a splash across the nation, playing at acclaimed music festivals like SXSW in Austin, TX, and CMJ in New York.

July 5: Steve Manshel Band
Boasting a “mild to wild” musical experience, Steve Manshel has been sharing his energetic performances with audiences in Colorado and beyond since his years touring with the legendary Firefall. His band includes extraordinary musicians, Steve Ivey, David Becher, Tom Capek and Anneke Toomey. Steve and his band have something for everyone, whether it’s well-known covers or fun sing-along originals.

July 12: Union Gray
Union Gray is a Colorado-based country band that gets audiences up and dancing with the the best new and old country classics. Although based in Denver, the talented quartet has played at venues across northern Colorado and even opened for country superstar, Craig Campbell, at his 2016 Greeley Stampede show.

July 19: Mojomama
Mojomama is fueled by the power vocals of Jessica Rowand and combines funk, rock and soul influences from Aretha Franklin to Steely Dan and Susan Tedeschi, leaving audiences with a new yet familiar sound. Every Mojomama performance excites the crowd with their hip-shaking grooves and undeniable melodies.

July 26: The Coteries
The Coteries are a folk-rock trio that wow audiences with their eclectic blend of acoustic guitars, mandolin, a stomp box and harmonicas. They have played at celebrated festivals, including Divide Music Festival and Harmonium Music Fest and performed alongside Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, Blondie, Cold War Kids and The Fray.

Aug. 2: The Wendy Woo Band
A celebrated northern Colorado artist, Wendy Woo lights up the stage with her energetic personality, musical skills and spirited songwriting. Her talent has earned her many honors, including Westword Magazine’s Music Awards “Singer/Songwriter of the year” five times. She has also had the pleasure of performing with some of the nation’s most famous artists, including Brad Paisley, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Counting Crows and more.
