Joe Sarr named Regional Director of Catholic Charities of Larimer County

Longtime Larimer County leader elevated to Regional Director role

Joe Sarr has been promoted to Regional Director of all Catholic Charities operations in Larimer County, including oversight of Samaritan House Fort Collins. Joe has served as Director of Operations and been a critical part of the leadership team since April 2019 and played a key role in ensuring ongoing and increased support during the COVID pandemic.

“Joe’s extensive experience as Director of Operations has prepared him for this new role which includes added responsibilities including community outreach and parish engagement,” said Michael Sinnett, VP/Shelters & Community Outreach. “We’re excited about the leadership Joe will bring to this team as they continue to meet the evolving needs of the Larimer County community.”

Joe brings three decades of experience in various leadership roles in the private sector specializing in building and developing high performing teams. This included opening the Colorado and Wyoming markets for Circuit City Stores, Inc. As Director of Operations for Catholic Charities of Larimer County, Joe helped the agency navigate the COVID pandemic, which involved establishing three COVID emergency shelters and overseeing Samaritan House Fort Collins strategic shift to become Larimer County’s only 24/7 emergency shelter for women and families experiencing homelessness.

“I am excited about this new challenge and the opportunity to continue to work with this remarkable team which has made such a significant impact in Larimer County for the past 33 years. It is a privilege to stand on the shoulders of all those who have come before us in this place,” said Sarr. “The last three years have seen remarkable growth in our team in terms of both mission alignment and operational strength. This resulted in seeing the number of families we serve grow by over 350% as well the doubling the number of women using our services. I look forward to continuing to work with our team and the entire community to solve problems and creatively find ways to respond to the needs of our community.”
