Healing Warriors Program Joins Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce

Fort Collins, Colorado – December 14, 2017 – Healing Warriors Program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves the healthcare needs of veterans, active duty service members, and their families, is pleased to announce that they have recently joined the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce. Begun in 2012 by co-founders Ana Yelen, Shelley Poland, and Jane Trexler, Healing Warriors Program operates a clinic at 1136 E. Stuart St., Suite 4202, in Fort Collins. The program uses an Integrative Care approach, including Acupuncture, CranioSacral Therapy, and Healing Touch, to treat clients suffering from chronic pain, symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and significant sleep disturbances.

Since their Fort Collins clinic opened in July 2013, Healing Warriors Program has delivered over 10,000 therapeutic sessions to their military clients and their families. These sessions have occurred not only at the clinic, but at outreach events as well. These outreach events include monthly Pop-Up Clinics held in each of three Front Range cities – Denver, Longmont, and Colorado Springs. In addition, Healing Warriors Program serves active duty military and their spouses/partners at Yellow Ribbon events. These events are held before, during, and after deployments – held for active duty military pre- and post-deployment, and for family members while their service member is on active deployment. The program also delivers treatment to homeless veterans at Department of Defense-sponsored Stand Downs held along the Front Range and in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Healing Warriors Program has experienced steady growth since their founding, and they were recently featured on local PBS (CPT12.org) as part of Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s ten-part series on the Vietnam War. Their plans for the future include the establishment of additional clinics in the Denver and Colorado Springs areas, as well as a Health Care Provider Training Program scheduled for launch in 2018.
