GUEST BARISTA DAY AT THE HUMAN BEAN DONATED FUNDS AND SUPPLIES TO ORPHANAGE IN HAITI

NORTHERN COLO, July 14, 2016 – Over two separate dates in June, The Human Bean drive-thru coffee stand hosted a Guest Barista Day to benefit the philanthropic initiative, Project Haiti. On Thursday, June 9, The Human Bean’s S. College location and on Thursday, June 23, its Evans’ location donated 10 percent of all sales to fulfill immediate medical needs and daily needs of a Haiti orphanage. The Human Bean was overwhelmed by the wealth of medical and toiletry items donated by their compassionate customers, filling more than eight large boxes, which are now on their way to Haiti.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of our northern Colorado community,” said Frank Sherman, owner of The Human Bean. “The funds and supplies generated will make a substantial impact on the lives of the children with whom we have had the pleasure of coming to know and love.”

As part of Project Haiti, The Human Bean sponsors Nimrode, a 14-year-old girl from a Haitian orphanage. Kaitlin Keyes, manager at The Human Bean, fostered a personal connection with Nimrode and other children at the orphanage during a recent visit to Desiré, Haiti. The trips are organized by a local church and made several times throughout the year. During the week Keyes was at the orphanage, she was able witness the remarkable work being done for the community. Her experience is documented online at http://humanbeannortherncolorado.com/in-the-news/my-trip-to-haiti/.
