GroupGives Donates $15,000 to Poudre High School’s Geometry in Construction Program
Fort Collins, Colo. (Nov. 28, 2016) – Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity is excited to announce that GroupGives, the charitable branch of The Group Inc. Real Estate, has donated $15,000 to Poudre High School’s Geometry in Construction program. The Geometry in Construction program is an ongoing partnership with Fort Collins Habitat, where 80 students, grades 9-11, build a Habitat home in the high school’s parking lot throughout the class.
“The Geometry in Construction students have the opportunity to not only gain construction experience but also learn of the value of serving one’s community,” said Kristin Candella, Executive Director of Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity. “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of GroupGives, and all our donors, that allow this fundamental program to continue.”
GroupGives is a program of The Group Inc. Real Estate and a fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. Like Fort Collins Habitat, it operates on the principles that everyone should have a place to call “home.” The $15,000 donation was presented at Fort Collins Habitat’s WE BUILD Breakfast in October and will benefit the STEM-based Geometry in Construction program so that students may continue to support the community by contributing to Habitat’s mission of providing safe and affordable housing.
