Great Western Bank Building Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with “Over the Edge” Event to Support Easterseals Colorado

FORT COLLINS, COLO. – June 14, 2017 – Easterseals Colorado invites adventurers in northern Colorado to the Over the Edge event, where they will rappel down all five stories of the Great Western Bank building, 3711 John F. Kennedy Pkwy. Suite 100 in Fort Collins. The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 9 a.m., and all funds raised will benefit several area nonprofits that support individuals with disabilities and their families. The Great Western Bank building, owned by Palmer Properties, is turning 10 years old in 2017, which fueled the idea for this special collaboration.

“Palmer Properties places great emphasis on supporting our northern Colorado community,” said Spiro Palmer, owner of Palmer Properties. “This milestone anniversary of the Great Western Bank Building is the perfect opportunity to reinforce our values by supporting an incredible organization like Easterseals Colorado.”

Easterseals Colorado offers support and resources to individuals and families impacted by disabilities and works with additional charities that align with this cause. The total amount raised by the Over the Edge event will benefit the following charities: WINGS Loveland, Greeley Adult Day program, Northern Colorado Campers of Rocky Mountain Village camp, Fort Collins Discovery Club Children’s Program, Northern Colorado Post-Polio Support and Northern Colorado Respite Services.

“Easterseals has been an invaluable resource for those facing disabilities for almost a century,” said Lisa Dokter, Vice President of Development at Easterseals Colorado. “It is with great pleasure that we kick off the inaugural Over the Edge event to continue our mission in northern Colorado and ensure that all members of society – regardless of their abilities or disabilities – have the opportunity to live enriched and fulfilling lives.”

Each Over the Edge participant must raise a minimum of $1,000 in order to secure a spot rappelling down the outside of Great Western Bank. In addition to supporting the 75+ rappelers, event attendees can enjoy food trucks, entertainment, prizes, drawings, children activities and much more for a day of festival-style family fun.

This event is made possible by Easterseals Colorado, Palmer Properties, UBS Financial Services, Mantooth Marketing Company, and all the tenants in the Great Western Bank building: Great Western Bank, Stewart Title, The Federal Savings Bank, Balanced Financial, Horn Funding Corp, Adecco, Brock and Company, Palmer Properties LLC, Trace First Inc., Passport Health, Hoogendyk and Associates, and UBS Financial Services.
