Front Range Community College is Turning 50 Years Old!

May 31, 2018 | Member News

When the college first opened in the fall of 1968, it was the first campus of the newly-created Community College of Denver – eventually called the “North Campus” of CCD. More than 2,000 students crowded into two metal buildings, and only a handful of programs were offered.

Things look a little different now that we are the largest community college in Colorado. Today FRCC has:

  • Three main campuses (plus several other locations for classes and labs)
  • Approximately 28,000 students
  • More than 160 degrees and certificates available

We are eager to recognize all the work that went into this tremendous growth, and we are excited to celebrate how FRCC’s efforts have changed people’s lives in our communities. We hope you’ll join us later in 2018 for some of the events and activities we’re planning to recognize this milestone!
