The Fort Collins Board of Realtors® (FCBR), in conjunction with their Northern Colorado Young Professionals Network and the Affiliate Network, has had the honor and privilege of providing holiday gifts to families in Fort Collins over the past eight years under the Adopt-A-Family Program.
This year they were able to raise over $4,300 through the FCBR membership network, providing the funding for gifts for 10 families (36 individuals) in need throughout the Fort Collins area.

With the monies raised, teams were formed to shop at the local Walmart for items identified on family wish lists provided by Housing Catalyst, the program sponsor. Common shopping list items included bath towels, shoes, coats, socks, pajamas and children’s toys. Members then came together the following day at the Fort Collins Board of Realtors® office for a holiday wrapping party where the giftwrapping team participated in a three-hour, fun-filled wrapping event.

After all the gifts were boxed, wrapped and ready to go, the packages were sorted by family and loaded on to a truck for delivery by Exodus Moving, an FCBR Affiliate Member, to Housing Catalyst for distribution to the families. “This has become one of the most anticipated annual traditions at the Fort Collins Board of Realtors®, a heartfelt volunteer effort that our members really look forward to each year. It always brings out the best in people and is truly a wonderful and rewarding experience for all those who participate,” said Suzan Koren, CEO Fort Collins Board of Realtors®.
