Fort Collins, CO – Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC (“CP2”) is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Cypers has joined the firm.
Elizabeth Cypers’ practice is focused on all areas of estate planning, wills & trusts, probate & estate administration, elder law, business succession planning, real estate, and small and family-owned businesses. In her estate planning practice, Ms. Cypers helps clients develop custom plans to prepare and protect their families in the event of death or disability. In her business law practice, Ms. Cypers works with entrepreneurs and business owners through all stages of the business cycle, serving as a resource to help clients with day-to-day business operations as well as plan for major events such as succession of the business from one generation to the next.
Ms. Cypers joins CP2 with 11 years of experience in practice, which included a period serving the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she provided advice for and handled the closings of FHA insured transactions for multifamily projects, hospitals, and assisted living facilities. She also provided advice regarding FHA Single Family Insured Mortgage Programs, Procurement/Government Contracting, and FOIA requests.
Ms. Cypers received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University, majoring in Psychology. She then earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where she focused her coursework on trusts and estates, business, elder law, and real estate. Ms. Cypers is licensed to practice in Colorado and California.
Ms. Cypers is involved in several community and professional organizations, including the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council, the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), Wealth Counsel, Elder Counsel, and the Rocky Mountain Society for Financial Service Professionals. She is also active with the Denver Bar Association and in the Elder Law and Trust & Estate sections of the Colorado Bar Association.
Originally from Gorham, Maine, Ms. Cypers currently lives in Denver with her husband Scott and their three kids. An aspiring author and entrepreneur, Ms. Cypers is always in the middle of writing several books at the same time. She also regularly practices yoga and enjoys having a glass of wine with friends and spending time with her family camping, skiing, and catching concerts at Red Rocks.
