CSU Athletics to offer free shuttle bus service to Saturday’s football game from Tour de Fat event

Partnership with Tour de Fat organizers will help fans enjoy popular event and Rams football

The Colorado State athletics department has arranged a partnership with organizers of the annual Tour de Fat event to provide free shuttle bus service between Old Town Fort Collins and Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium for Saturday’s season-opening football game. The game kicks off at 2 p.m., and will be the Rams’ annual Ag Day and Orange Out celebration in recognition of the school’s Aggie heritage.

Shuttle bus service to the stadium will begin at 1 p.m. for Tour de Fat participants, originating from the old Steele’s Market parking lot located on West Mountain Ave., across from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Tour-goers may lock their bikes at that location, but must retrieve their bikes and remove them from the lock-up location by 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Service from Old Town to the stadium will run from 1-3 p.m. and will resume with return service from Hughes Stadium to Old Town at the start of the fourth quarter. The last shuttle will leave Hughes Stadium one hour after the game’s conclusion.

“There is a great deal of excitement around our home-opening football game on Saturday,” said Ben Lorenzen, CSU’s senior associate A.D. for sales, marketing and communications. “It is also a big day in Fort Collins with Tour de Fat, and we recognize that many of those participants are also CSU fans. Thanks to the partnership we have been able to form with Tour de Fat organizers, we will now be able to make it even more efficient for our fans to enjoy both events with free round-trip shuttles for Tour de Fat.”

Season tickets, three-game packages, group tickets and single-game tickets for Colorado State’s 2015 football season are currently on sale through the Rams Sales Department at (800) 491-RAMS, online at www.csurams.com/tickets/football, at the Ram Zone retail and ticket location in Old Town Fort Collins and at the McGraw Athletic Center Ticket Office.
