Colorado Secure Savings: A New Retirement Savings Program

May 23, 2023 | Member News

In 2020, the Colorado legislature passed Senate Bill 20-200, authorizing the creation of the Colorado Secure Savings Program (CSSP) in order to close the retirement savings gap that is leaving an estimated 1.4 million Colorado workers behind. CSSP is a state-facilitated retirement program for private sector employers and their employees. Employers with five or more employees, and who have been in business for two or more years will be required to either register for CSSP, or provide a private retirement plan to their employees.
