Anyone interested in creative problem solving and facilitation techniques that will empower you to make tangible improvements to the way you do business is invited to sign up for the City’s new FC Lean Basics class. Lean is defined as the systematic elimination of waste and can help businesses improve.

The City will open its FC Lean training, previously for employees only, to the public starting in February.

“We are excited to start offering this class to the community,” said Lean process improvement specialist Kirsten Silveira who teaches the class.

“Lean is a great tool for any business owner looking to streamline their processes and learn how to do more with less,” said Matt Renquist who also teaches the class.

Participants can expect to learn an introduction to Lean methodology and tools, which helps eliminate inefficiency, improve customer service and reduce errors.

The next class is from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Feb. 12. The classes run quarterly. Lunch is provided and space is limited.
