The Light of Hope Fundraising Luncheon, presented by Alpine Bank, will be Tuesday, March 22 at 11:30 am at the Embassy Suites Spa and Conference Center in Loveland. The event will highlight the impact of CASA’s programs, which include the Court Appointed Special Advocates and Family Connections Programs.

This year’s Light of Hope event is chaired by Sports Illustrated’s 1994 National Coach of the Year Sonny Lubick and his wife, Carol Jo. In addition to being CASA’s largest fundraiser, the luncheon will honor the late Judge John-David Sullivan, who helped establish CASA of Larimer County. The program will also recognize the Volunteer of the Year, Partner of the Year, and Philanthropist of the Year.

Bob Lembke, President of United Water and Sanitation District and longtime philanthropist, committed to match donations to CASA of Larimer County’s annual fundraiser dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000. Funds earmarked for the Light of Hope event and donations raised at the event will be eligible for the $50,000 matching gift challenge.

Margaret Bachrach, Development Director, stated, “We are excited to host CASA Larimer County’s annual Light of Hope luncheon bringing awareness to our mission, recruiting valuable volunteers, and raising much needed funds to support the vulnerable children in our community so they have the same opportunities as other children to thrive!”

CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for children’s best interests. They stay with each case until it is closed, and the child is in a safe, permanent home. In 2021, volunteers logged nearly 8,800 hours serving 287 children. CASA of Larimer County hopes to swear in 110 new volunteers in 2022 to serve more children.

The Family Connection program provides a conflict-free positive place for custody exchanges and for non-custodial parents to visit with their children. In addition, these families are provided services and resources to improve parenting skills. Over 370 clients were served, including 1664 supervised visits and custody exchanges. The program and administrative offices are located at the historic Harmony House.

The fundraiser transitioned to a luncheon format for this year’s in person event. There will also be an option for people to attend the event virtually. To host a table, register to attend in person or via livestream, visit www.casalarimer.com/upcomingevents/ or call 970-488-1632.
