CASA of Larimer County Announces Historic Matching Campaign

CASA of Larimer County (CLC) is pleased to announce the Be Their Voice campaign—a $40,000 matching gift fundraiser. Donations made between September 21 – October 30 will be matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to the leadership gifts of four anonymous donors. In its 34 years of operations, CLC has never hosted such a significant matching campaign.

The Be Their Voice campaign seeks to raise $80,000 – critical funding for the continuation of CASA’s child advocacy and family coaching services. Throughout the pandemic, CLC has continued to provide one-on-one advocacy to children involved in dependency and neglect cases, and supervised visitation services to families who would otherwise have no means of staying connected with their loved ones. These services are needed now more than ever, as incidents of child abuse and domestic violence are expected to increase due to the pandemic. These forms of violence have fewer opportunities to be noticed and addressed with social distancing rules in place.

As we enter the seventh month of the pandemic locally, CLC recognizes the great need in Northern Colorado for the vulnerable populations the organization serves. “Thanks to our supporters, community partners, and extraordinary staff at CASA of Larimer County, we’ve been able to prevent the children and families we work with from falling through the cracks. However, we know the road ahead is far from over,” says CLC Executive Director, Sabrina Stoker. “Looking at the next six months, we’ll have to lean on our community to ensure those who have been suffering behind closed doors have the opportunity to heal and thrive.”

CASA of Larimer County serves more than half of the children involved in dependency and neglect cases annually. The organization has experienced a three-year period of strategic, rapid growth. The need for CLC’s services is expected to increase due to the pandemic, and CASA of Larimer County will continue to be a community leader in addressing child abuse and neglect.
