Position Available:
Paws at Home is currently seeking candidates for a Part-Time Pet Sitter & Dog Walker. This new hire will work two weekdays per week. There is the possibility of more mid-morning & late afternoon walks if desired.Description:

We are looking for reliable and responsible people that: love pets, have a great attitude and can help us meet pet sitting and dog walking demands. Here at Paws at Home we focus on excellent customer service and of course the best care possible for pets. We will certainly train you to be the best pet sitter in the world!

To be a good fit for this position you must be the following:

Great with animals and customers
Very detail oriented
Excellent problem solver
Have a track record of reliability
Be available for Breakfast visits, Mid-Day, Evening, and late night visits.

Requirements:

You have a car
You have a smartphone
You can commit to working with us for longer than6 months
You love both dogs and cats
You have an open flexible schedule
You can work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays:

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s (Don’t worry; you’ll be able to have a holiday too, and you’ll be paid more per the visit during these times.)

You can pass a criminal / background check

Responsibilities:

Candidates must have the ability to walk dogs, drive safely, scoop litter boxes, meet with clients, send picture message updates (using your cell phone), and do light chores around the house, such as bring in mail, newspaper, trash, watering plants, etc.

You’ll provide feeding, walking, plant watering, and mail pickup while clients are traveling

Visits for dogs are 30 to 60 minutes in the Early morning mid-day, early afternoon, Evening & Late Evening

Visit times for cats are sometimes more flexible and are usually once or twice daily for a 30-minute visit.

Hours/Pay rate:

You will have between 5-20 visits each week. The pay range is $8-17 / per visit, for 15-60 minute visits. Drive time and mileage compensation is included in the $8-$17 / per visit pay rate.

Is this the right job for you?

We are looking for people that have two weekdays available to dog walk & pet sit. From time to time we may need some backup assistance on your off days, but you will be notified in advance.

Pet Sitting visits are scheduled throughout the day — in the morning, mid-day, late afternoon, evening, and late evening. You have breaks throughout the day, in between visits.

Your schedule is determined by the visits that our clients book. So your hours will vary from week to week, depending on how many clients schedule. Last minute bookings and changes to your schedule are common because clients sometimes book or cancel visits last minute. You will need to complete last-minute visits scheduled on your days.

Our business is seasonal, we have slow times and busy times. Holidays are always our busiest times. Summertime and the winter holidays are generally busy. September, October, January and February are a bit slower.

We are a mobile pet sitting service so this job requires a lot of driving around town – to and from client’s houses. So, be prepared for that and have a reliable car!
