Northern Colorado Coordinator - A Little Help

A Little Help is a Colorado nonprofit that connects neighbors to help older adults thrive. We empower older neighbors to age well in their homes and communities by connecting volunteers of all ages to provide services, like help around the home and yard, and local transportation.
The Northern Colorado Coordinator is responsible for member and volunteer coordination and relationship management, event planning/execution, and community outreach support to grow A Little Help (ALH)’s footprint and capacity to serve older adults in Larimer and Weld Counties. This position reports to the Northern Colorado Director, and partners closely with the ALH team to grow engagement with A Little Help including recruiting new members, volunteers, partners, and donors. As a strong team, the Coordinator serves as a relationship sustainer/manager with local connections, while the Director focuses on growing new relationships and geographies. Responsibilities
Member and Volunteer Coordination
- Coordinates service group inquiries and calendar, coordinates all facets of service work with members and volunteers, and follows up with members and groups to confirm needs were met and meaningful experiences were achieved
- Recruits and helps coordinate volunteers for special projects/programs (i.e. Warm Welcome visits, Farmer’s Market Delivery, and other opportunities as needed)
- Monitors open member requests to help fulfill services; maintains list of ‘on call’ volunteers for hard-to-fill requests and communicates with volunteers as needed to fulfill service requests, with Programs Department
- Responds to member, volunteer, and staff phone calls and emails in a professional and timely manner
- Tracks member/volunteer efforts in CiviCRM database
Northern Colorado Office Operations
- Maintains up-to-date inventory of marketing/resource materials and supplies, and works with ALH staff to fulfill
- Monitors physical security of offices, equipment trailers, off-site storage, vehicle, and tools
- Manages and monitors internal calendar of commitments for local staff; works with Director to prioritize
- Inputs and updates information in CRM database
- Assists with other projects as needed
Community Events, with Northern Colorado Director
- Supports coordination of annual Service Saturday yard clean-up event logistics, including but not limited to member and volunteer management, venue reservations, food/beverage, on-site registration, equipment needs, and yard-waste disposal
- Supports coordination of member and volunteer engagement event logistics, including summer picnics, holiday gatherings, and volunteer coffee chats, with Programs Department
Community Outreach, with Northern Colorado Director
- Collaborates with Programs Department on local event and programming marketing and communication
- Assists the Northern Colorado Director in identifying and prioritizing strategic community outreach opportunities (events/expos/festivals/presentations to groups) to build awareness of ALH and recruit members and volunteers
- Coordinates all necessary logistics to participate in outreach opportunities, recruiting volunteers to help staff outreach events and representing ALH when needed
- Provides some local content for monthly and weekly community communications
Philanthropy, with Northern Colorado Director and ALH Development staff
- Supports relationship maintenance with local individual donors, grantors, and corporate, business, and civic partners
- Supports local fundraising events and campaigns
- Assists with data retrieval and content for grant applications and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in business, communication, liberal arts, nonprofit management, or related field by employment start date
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer relations, sales, marketing, event planning, volunteer management, or fundraising/development
- Passion for the mission, sensitivity to the needs of older adults
- Initiative, start-up mentality with ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills, team/interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and customer service
- Exemplary organizational, detail, and time management skills
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Zoom
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Occasional regional travel is required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish speaker
- Working knowledge of the Northern Colorado communities served by A Little Help
- Nonprofit experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
Compensation
This is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Northern Colorado. The base salary range is $40,000-$43,000 per year depending on qualifications and relevant years of experience. Benefits include paid time off and paid sick and safe time, 401K matching after six months of employment, and a travel stipend. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment with rotating in-office and remote work.
