Marketing & Communications Coordinator -
The Downtown Fort Collins Business Association (DBA) is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator. This position will work with DBA’s management team to develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to advance DBA’s mission, goals and initiatives.
Job Description The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will play an active and primary role to create and implement annual marketing and communications work plans that will position downtown Fort Collins as a premier destination and respected as one of the most prosperous and vital business districts in Colorado. Required Skills & Abilities Develop and implement a comprehensive and strategic marketing/communications plan and budget that deﬁnes key messages, target audiences, content and collateral. Market downtown Fort Collins to a local, regional and national audience Ensure the DBA’s mission and vision are used to set the direction of all programs. Create marketing campaigns, both general/year round and speciﬁc/holiday Create an internal and external communications plan through multiple channels that is effective in speaking to a diverse and multifaceted audience. Lead the redesign of the DBA website, manage the website and its content on an ongoing basis Develop budgets for all marketing and communicant initiatives and events
Work in collaboration with community partners to expand support and leverage resources Represent the DBA at membership events, community meetings, and other functions as needed Generate and promote positive media articles about downtown Fort Collins/DBA Develop, implement and maintain public/media relation activities including community relations, public affairs, constituent relations, and message development Cultivate local, regional, and national media contacts and maintain media databases Write press releases and manage distribution Assess and report on effectiveness of communication tools and recommend best practices for multiple target audience
Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Lead the day-to-day responsive communications via social media and online platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram Creation and management of three monthly e-newsletters, some coding involved Manage DBA website, including all updates and maintenance via Expression Engine Lead graphic design for all event and promotional needs Prepare meeting notices, agendas, review of the minutes and follow-up correspondence to committees, as needed Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Bachelors degree in marketing, communicaitons or related ﬁeld 5 years experience in communications and marketing Demonstrated experience in managing design processes and the execution of strategic marketing and communications plans Excellent writing, editing and communication skills; knowledge of working with the media and website/ technology management Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet deadline with minimal supervision Experience in developing programs to measure results of marketing and events Knowledge of, and a passion for, downtown Fort Collins Superior attention to details Computer literacy in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Office programs, database management, website content management and other programs necessary to fulﬁll job duties
Compensation & Beneﬁts This is a full-time position with a compensation range of $12-$15/hour, commensurate with experience. A competitive beneﬁts package is also provided
