Futures Lab is excited to expand our team in 2023-2024. Futures Lab is a PSD program that is open to learners from all area secondary schools. Students are co-enrolled at both Futures Lab and their home campus.
Classes at Futures Lab provide highly engaging, highly personalized, hands-on experiences for learners that reflect the Futures Lab Design Principles: Autonomy, Deep Learning, Connection, and Authentic Work.
Futures Lab is a human-centered learning environment for adults and young learners. Strong candidates for positions at Futures Lab are:

The HVAC Pathway Instructor will teach our new pathway. This pathway is still under development and consists of classes that give students both PSD and Front Range Community College credit. The role of the Pathway Instructor includes facilitating student project teams, supervising students in work-based learning experiences, and identifying opportunities for collaboration with business and higher education partners to further develop and refine this pathway.
- Faculty Qualifications:
- HVAC: Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning HVAC courses are CTE courses. Faculty must have an FRCC CTE Credential to teach in the field.
- The following are the minimum requirements to teach HVA courses:
- Minimum Required: A related associate degree or credit-bearing post-secondary certificate or relevant current industry license or certification and 4,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years; OR
- A related Bachelor’s or any Master’s degree with 18 discipline related credits and 2,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 7 years; OR
- Any unrelated degree without a relevant current industry license or certification with 6,000
- verified occupational/industry hours within 10 years AND a Skills Demonstration for Minimum Teaching Qualifications verified by the Lead Faculty/Program Director and/or Industry Subject Matter Expert. Tested experience document with rubric must be completed, submitted, and approved. OR
- No degree or credit-bearing post-secondary certificate or relevant current industry license or certification with 10,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 10 years AND a Skills Demonstration for Minimum Teaching Qualifications verified by the Lead Faculty/Program Director and/or Industry Subject Matter Expert. Tested experience document with rubric must be completed, submitted, and approved.
Related Degree, Credential, and/or Occupational Experience – process heating and/or cooling, HVAC Technician, HVAC certification or license, Mechanical Engineer, DOL apprenticeship credential in HVAC.
