Commercial Project Manager - Independent Plumbing Solutions, Inc.

Position Summary

The Commercial Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Commercial projects while coordinating with owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and foreman.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Establish objectives and provide overall direction for each project, jointly with the Foreman; develop or implement policies, standards, and procedures for work
  • Maintain communication with project coordinator and field personnel; develop or implement policies, standards, and procedures for work
  • Assist in reviewing contracts, contract drawings and specifications, codes, addenda and estimates for completeness and clarity; define scope of work
  • Estimate, negotiate and implement all changes in scope; coordinate and communicate with general contractor all costs and schedule impacts related to the change order
  • Coordinate with the Foreman the documentation and distribution of as-builts and operation & maintenance manuals
  • Coordinate all warranty activity and control costs; act as liaison between Independent Plumbing Solutions, Inc. and owner during the warranty period
  • Attend manpower meetings to discuss field personnel opportunities; identify client needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
  • Perform administrative functions, such as reviewing or writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, or purchasing of materials or services
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change; manage the process of innovative change effectively
  • Effective project management: apply company methodology, enforce standards, minimize exposure to risk and ensure completion of projects
  • Communicate relevant project information to appropriate parties, resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
  • Participate in development opportunities including training
  • Team management: utilize team members to fullest potential, encourage collaboration, mitigate conflict, foster positive communication, acknowledgement and appreciation
  • Track company lessons learned and share evaluation with team members when appropriate
  • Support the total quality effort and promote 100% customer satisfaction
  • Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Prior project management experience of over 5 years in the mechanical construction industry
  • Colorado Journeyman Plumbing License; valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of mechanical estimating including, but not limited to, plumbing and hot water heat piping components
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills; efficient and well organized
  • Proficiency with personal computers, calendar systems, and Microsoft programs
