Our Account Assistant – Surety position is responsible for assisting our Sales Executive and Client Service Team in the servicing and retaining of all surety accounts. This position will start as a clerical role, but has excellent growth potential for a hard worker who thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy matters. Insurance experience is not required, and experience in the construction field is a big plus. Integrity, dependability, attention to detail, and the willingness to continuously learn are crucial in this role.

Account Assistants will need to have or obtain a Colorado Property & Casualty Insurance License within six months of starting, but we will provide the opportunity for training and licensure for the right candidate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for account servicing needs including but not limited to bonds, continuation certificates, reference letters, riders, invoicing, audits, etc.
Responsible for preparation of bonds and related documents
Process all bonds, error free
Proof all bonds before they leave the premises
Advise Sales Executive, Account Executive or Account Manager of needed information
Prepare bonds for delivery to client
Assist in information analysis, renewal process and completion of surety documents
Set-up and maintain client and surety files
Prepare agreements and applications, as needed
Process and invoice renewals reviewed by Account Manager or Account Executive
Responsible for integrity of bond data in Agency Management and Surety Systems
Comply with and follow corporate and Department workflow procedures and guidelines
Provide outstanding customer service (both internally and externally) and seek to improve whenever possible

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep Supervisor/Manager informed in all matters that may affect the performance of assigned tasks and/or overall operations of the Department
Navigate proficiently in all Agency Management and Surety Systems
Attend and participate in training and educational courses to enhance knowledge and skills
Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as requested

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities, but is expected to mentor new team members and lower level positions. Inform Supervisor/Manager of all matters that may give rise to an E&O claim

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient in use of general office equipment
Education, Experience or Formal Training
Obtain Colorado Property & Casualty Insurance License within 6 months of hire date
Actively pursue industry training
Requires current Colorado drivers license and acceptable MVR
College degree preferred
