The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce held the 2013 Health Care in Your Future Summit on May 1, 2013.  The event was underwritten by area businesses that participated in the Moving Fort Collins Forward! campaign last fall.

The Summit provided members of the business community with the opportunity to discuss developments in health care, the outlook for the health care industry in the Fort Collins region and actions that could strengthen the health care sector.

The Health Care Summit featured a keynote session entitled The Role of Leadership in a Changing Healthcare Environment by David A. Rubenstein, FACHE.  Rubenstein is a retired Army Major General who excelled as a leader and follower at all levels of the Army Medical Department.  He now shares his leadership lessons as a university professor, speaker, and seminar leader.  General Rubenstein discussed a variety of challenges the current healthcare environment presents to leaders of communities, healthcare organizations, vendors, payors, and the public. In so doing, he highlighted the role leaders across the Fort Collins community will play in succeeding and meeting the community’s healthcare needs.
