“Cry It Out” Presented by OpenStage Theatre

Dirty diapers, breast pumps and 2 a.m. feedings, are enough to give anyone sleepless nights … Not to mention the need for a strong cup of coffee. Molly Smith Metzler (Shameless, Orange is the New Black) holds both a microscope and a megaphone to the joys and perils today’s mothers face. This comedy-with-dark-edges takes a sharp and honest look at the power of female friendship, the dilemma of going back to work after being home with a newborn and the effect that economic and social class has on parenthood in America. With the actors only a few feet away audience members are drawn deeply into the action of the play, creating a powerful and unforgettable experience. Be prepared for a moving, intimate experience that will leave you thinking and feeling long after the lights come up. ‘Cry it Out’ will take place on The OBC Wine Project’s patio (next door to Odell Brewing!) Wine by the glass or bottle will be available for purchase. We suggest pre-ordering a Get Plattered cheese and charcuterie box to enjoy with your wine. Limited snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are also available. Please bring a blanket or jacket in case the temps drop!
