About the Panelists

Shelly Beyerle

& StraightLine Fitness Studio
Shelly Beyerle is co-owner of both Rocky Mountain Rossiter, and StraightLine Fitness Studio. Most of her days are spent stretching pain and dysfunction out of clients’ bodies and working with them to re-establish functional movement patterns. Shelly is the studio manager and marketing director of StraightLine Fitness; and she gets to work with several local health professionals in hosting informative workshops for their culture. Her never ending quest in helping clients chose simple, synergistic health choices for life savoring wellness is actually considered fun and preferred over long walks on the beach.

Kelly Henderson
Urban Mattress
Kelly spent the first two decades of her career in HR and Development in the non-profit sector before she and her husband opened Urban Mattress. She loves improving her customers’ quality of life through a great night of sleep while improving the quality of life of the underserved and vulnerable in Fort Collins through her company’s 2% to charity commitment. She believes small businesses can have a huge impact on their communities. She is married to Bruce and they are raising two teenagers. She loves red wine, dark chocolate and yoga.

Jennifer Lopez
Swallowtail Foods, Makers of Pi Chai
Jennifer Lopez founded Swallowtail Foods, LLC in 2013. Jennifer’s love and passion for the culinary arts began 25+ years ago at California State Polytechnic University where she studied hospitality management, food science, & product/menu development. Jennifer continued her culinary passion working in the food & beverage industry for hotels & restaurants until she decided to venture off on her own creating Swallowtail Foods. Pi Chai was created out of a love of chai. Jennifer’s desire was to develop an exceptionally delicious tasting chai that is easy to make, while utilizing the highest quality ingredients from local suppliers and abroad. The result is a chai that is unparalleled in taste, quality, and simplicity. Jennifer is a wife and mother of two daughters, and is active in her local Fort Collins, Colorado community. Jennifer is on the Board of Directors of Respite Care, Inc., volunteers her time to Foothills Gateway, Inc., and mentors local small businesses sharing her expertise and knowledge of the food & beverage industry.

Annette Pederson
Annette Pederson
After spending over 30 years in the specialty women’s and men’s apparel business, Annette Pedersen decided to take her passion for training and retail knowledge to independent retailers throughout the United States. As a regional vice president for a national women’s retailer she was responsible for up to 120 store locations and prided herself in building revenue and sales by focusing on the development of teams, providing training in leadership, merchandising/display, hiring/training, mastery of customer service, marketing and inventory management. Having graduated with a Masters in Organizational Leadership, she has much to teach and share with others. Additionally, she can relate firsthand with the struggles of independent retailers since she owns her own better women’s consignment boutique. Her retailing consulting firm, Summit View Retail Solutions, strives to build financial security for independent retailers by providing them the best expertise in the industry.

AWE’s monthly meetings provide an opportunity for women business owners and women entrepreneurs to enjoy an evening out after work to connect with other female entrepreneurs and learn about a relevant topic. Our monthly meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. They include networking opportunities and short educational presentations on topics important to entrepreneurs at all stages of business ownership.
