No, the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce is not a governmental entity.  It is a not-for-profit member organization and receives no funding from a government organization.

Does a business need to be located in the Fort Collins area to be a member of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce?
No. It doesn’t matter where the business is located. If you want to market to Northern Colorado, you should consider joining the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce.

How is The Chamber governed?
The Chamber Board of Directors sets the policy and direction for the organization. Directors represent the diversity of Chamber members – including diversity in gender, size of business, industry, and geographic location.
A Chairman, Chair-elect and Treasurer are elected for one-year terms from among the Board of Directors.

How many members does the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce have?
The Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce has approximately 1,200 member businesses in the Northern Colorado area.
Approximately 80% of those members have 20 or fewer employees.

We provide marketing opportunities through membership, allowing you to gain exposure for your business through a wide variety of venues; from monthly networking events to online and print advertising to targeted sponsorships.
Not only does the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce offer your business a chance to grow and get connected, but your involvement will help improve the area’s overall business climate and build a more prosperous community for all.

I don’t have time to become heavily involved in Chamber events. Does that decrease the value of my membership?
Not at all. We do more than simply host business events. In fact, because our membership is so diverse, we offer a wide range of programs and services that meet the unique needs of our members.
Some members prefer the networking aspect of the Chamber, while others like the advocacy and leadership we bring to the table through our government affairs program. All Chamber member businesses are listed in the online directory on our Website.
Through your membership, you are also working to enhance the business community on a regional and state level through the Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance (partnership between the Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley Chambers and the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corporation) which employs a lobbyist at the state level.
